Palisade Celebrates 20th Anniversary!

Ithaca, NY - August 2, 2004. Palisade Corporation is proud to announce its twentieth year as the leading developer of risk and decision analysis tools. In an era when software companies come and go, Palisade has achieved two decades of innovation and steady growth. The company will commemorate the occasion with a number of public education and promotional events throughout the next twelve months.

Palisade began operations in 1984 when Sam McLafferty, the company’s founder and President, released PRISM, the world’s first desktop risk analysis software. PRISM, which developed from McLafferty’s consulting practice, allowed users to quantify risk using Monte Carlo simulation. PRISM evolved into Palisade’s @RISK, the company’s flagship product and the world’s leading risk analysis tool.

The early success of @RISK indicated a growing demand for technically refined risk analysis and decision support tools. Seeing the opportunity, Palisade developed and introduced several complementary products: BestFit^®, TopRank^®, PrecisionTree^®, and RISKview™. These products were then combined with @RISK to form Palisade’s DecisionTools^® Suite. During this time, the company also added @RISK for Project to provide risk analysis for project managers. Evolver™ and RISKOptimizer^®, genetic algorithm-based optimizer tools, rounded out the product line.

Most recently the company has introduced StatTools™, which adds robust statistical analysis to Excel. Additionally the company offers a growing line of software developer kits for many of its products, giving users unprecedented flexibility for implementing Monte Carlo simulation and related technologies.

Palisade’s continual upgrading of existing products reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, powerful, and robust solutions for desktop analysis. “Our success and longevity is due in part to the advanced capabilities and continuous improvement of our products,” states founder McLafferty. “We’re now a global company.
