Application Integration for Graphical Solution Report Development : RISKOptimizer + MapPoint

As new applications emerge, so do the potential strengths of well established ones. Occasionally multiple computational and graphical capabilities evolve to the point at which the potential for their integration offers something truly novel to analysts. The question then becomes one of knowing how integration can take place.

Such is the current state of affairs with a wide range of applications designed for use with Excel. In this Webinar I’ll be discussing how Excel can provide the foundation for linking the use of RISKOptimizer with otherwise separate applications such as MS MapPoint. I’ll demonstrate the joint use of the two applications within an Excel 2007 environment through example, and talk about the kinds of activities that go on behind the scenes to make such integrated decision support a reality.

In doing so, my hope is to illustrate that the skills required to create well-integrated multi-application decision-support-tools are now within the grasp of most analysts. The forthcoming text “Excel Basics to Blackbelt” (www.excel-blackbelt.com) exemplifies this notion, and is intended to ramp-up analyst skills to a level at which such integration is possible.
